Award winning photojournalist and multimedia expert Edmond Terakopian and Snapperstuff’s newest member of the team Angus Thomson, as well as founder Helen Atkinson will be on hand to answer all your questions on our gear.

BJP ‘Shoot the street’ 2010 competition winner

Ed Swinden wins the BJP ‘Shoot the Street‘ competition:

Ed was judged to have the best body of work by a four-strong judging panel: Diane Smyth, deputy editor of the BJP; Louise Clements, senior curator, co-founder and director of the Format Photography Festival; Mike Seaborne, senior curator of photographs at the Museum of London; and Sophie Howarth, co-author of ‘Street Photography Now’, published by Thames & Hudson.
Ed is now working with Louise Clements, curator of the Format Festival, to create an exhibition which will be printed by MX Display and go on show in at Format International Photography Festival 2011, in Derby, UK, from 4th March to 3rd April 2010. Ed also wins a Think Tank Photo Retrospective Lens Changer 2 (pinestone) shoulder bag courtesy of Snapperstuff.

Ed remarks: “This image is part of a large project I have been working on for some years about city life, and the place of people – particularly the workers – within it. I am very interested in combining high contrast, deep shadows and geometric patterns in the street scene with ambiguous human figures to produce images that hopefully resonate in a slightly different way from the street photographs people may have become familiar with in the past.”
