So which bag do you suggest for a frequent Ryanair user? Airport Accelerator and Commuter are both wider than 20cm???

We have now listed some Think Tank Photo carry-on bag options for Ryan Air above. You are right though, the Accelerator & Commuter are both wider than 20cm, but the next size down, the Airport Essentials, will fit.

The Urban Disguise 70 v2 shoulder bag can be converted to a backpack using the Shoulder Harness v2 which may be good if you’re looking to spread the weight more evenly across your shoulders.

If you want a really lightweight shoulder bag, then the Citywalker 30 really can accommodate a huge amount. So much so, you really will want to check the scales to make sure it’s not over 10kg before you leave the house!

I was ripped off to the tune of £170 by Thomas Cook for being 5kg overweight (they dropped the allowance from 20kg) BEWARE

Thank you for your feedback on this! Really good to be aware, BEFORE travelling, that the weight limit is heavily enforced by Thomas Cook!

It’s a shame you didn’t include any of the U.S. or Asian airlines (some of the largest in the world). Would have been a nice list then.

We’ve listed American Airlines already… please give us some names and we’ll add them ASAP

We’ve now added Delta, US Airways and United Airlines to the list. Virgin and American Airlines are there too. Hope this is looking better now!

Have today phoned the Aer Lingus Website Helpdesk who confirmed that I was allowed one personal item on Aer Lingus Regional flights via Aer Arann despite there being conflicting on web pages http://www.aerlingus.com/travelinformation/baggageinformation/cabinbaggage/ and http://www.aerlingus.com/media/aerlinguscom/content/pdfs/EI_Cabin_Baggage_Policy.pdf. Very confusing to say the least.
